Live Feed vs. Livestream: What’s the Difference?
In the world of video production, the terms live feed and livestream are often used interchangeably — but they’re actually quite different. Understanding this distinction helps clients choose the right setup for their event, broadcast, or show.
🎥 What Is a Live Feed?
A live feed is a real-time video signal transmitted from a camera to a specific display, such as a projector, LED screen, or control room.
It’s often used in corporate events, concerts, or conferences, where the audience at the venue needs to see what’s happening on stage — up close and in real time.
Key Traits of a Live Feed:
Real-time output to displays or switchers
Audience is physically present
Commonly used for: events, conferences, award shows
🌐 What Is a Livestream?
A livestream is when video is broadcasted online through platforms like YouTube, Facebook, or a private link.
The goal is to reach viewers beyond the venue, allowing remote audiences to watch the event as it happens.
Key Traits of a Livestream:
Requires stable internet connection
Broadcasts to online viewers
Can include overlays, graphics, and live comments
Commonly used for: webinars, product launches, virtual events
🎬 Can You Have Both? Absolutely.
Many large-scale events use both live feed and livestream setups.
For example, a conference may use a live feed for the audience in the hall and a livestream for those watching remotely.
This hybrid approach ensures everyone — on-site or online — experiences the event seamlessly.
Behind the Scenes: Della Ding Dang – Sing Together Again Live Tour Kuching
Sing Together Again Live Tour by Della Ding Dang brought not only powerhouse vocals but also a breathtaking visual experience — and Lightcube Studio had the privilege to capture every moment from behind the lens.
🛠️ Two Days of Setup
Our team spent two full days setting up before show day — rigging cameras, testing angles, checking intercom lines, and syncing every monitor feed. Concert venues come with their own set of challenges, from lighting positions to cable runs, so careful setup was key to ensuring a smooth live shoot.
The Setup
Our full setup included a mix of Blackmagic and Sony cameras, supported by stabilizers, monitors, and live-switching gear. We used:
Blackmagic URSA G2 & Sony FX3/F55 II/A6500 for main and side angles
Sigma 24–70mm & Sony 18–105mm lenses for wide and close shots
Blackmagic ATEM HD8 ISO and Camera Control Unit for live control
DJI RS4 Pro/RS2 Pro for smooth movement shots
Viltrox monitors, SDI/HDMI cables, and intercoms to keep everything connected
Tripods, dollies, V-Mount batteries, and power stations for stability and support
Simple, efficient, and reliable — everything we needed to bring the concert to life.
🙌 A Big Thanks to the Crew
Behind every great show is a team that makes it happen. From camera operators to technical directors, every member of our crew brought their skill, precision, and passion to the stage.
Two days of setup, multiple camera angles, countless cables — and a team that never missed a beat. Each person played a vital role in making sure the visuals matched the energy of Della Ding Dang’s performance. Their coordination, focus, and quick thinking kept everything running smoothly from start to finish.
To our hardworking Lightcube crew — thank you for turning challenges into creativity and delivering nothing short of excellence!

Why We Sometimes Need ‘Another Take’ — and It’s Not About Perfection
If you’ve ever been on set, you’ve probably heard this phrase more than once:
To someone watching from the sidelines, it might seem like we’re chasing perfection — trying to make sure every word, every frame, every movement is flawless.
But in truth, that’s not why we ask for another take.
🎥 1. Every Take Tells a Slightly Different Story
Each take has its own energy — a more natural tone, a better light, a realer smile.
Sometimes, the magic happens on the third or fourth try — and we’d miss it if we stopped at the first.
2. More Options for Editing
Extra takes give editors choices. One perfect line from Take 3 can save the entire scene.
3. Small Details Matter
A mic pop, a glance at the camera, or a background distraction — one small thing can ruin an otherwise great shot.
4. It Helps Talent Relax
Most people loosen up after the first take. That’s when we capture the real emotion.
We’re not chasing perfection — we’re chasing authenticity. And sometimes, that takes a few tries.
The Best Way to Give Video Feedback
Giving feedback on a video isn’t as simple as saying “make it nicer” or “I don’t like it.” Clear, constructive feedback saves time, avoids endless revisions, and helps the final video actually deliver results.
1. Be Specific, Not Vague
❌ “Can you make this better?”
✅ “Can you brighten this shot — it looks a bit dark compared to the others.”
The more concrete your feedback, the faster editors know what to fix.
2. Give Feedback in One Place
Instead of sending notes via WhatsApp, email, and voice messages, try to keep everything in one document or platform. Many production teams use:
Google Docs/Sheets
Download sample Video Feedback Template here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KFS5rUQwmUfyCJQEoK5O5blymZC0RZ6D3Jqi6LLeCAI/edit?usp=sharing
3. Use Timestamps
Videos move fast. Instead of “around the middle part”, say:
“At 1:23, can we change the background music?”
This avoids guesswork and back-and-forth messages.
✅ How to use:
Watch the video draft.
Note down the exact timestamp of the change.
Write clear, specific feedback (avoid “make it nicer”).
Mark priority so editors know what to fix first.
Leave general notes for overall impressions.
4. Group Your Feedback
Send feedback in batches (draft 1, draft 2) instead of little comments every few hours. This keeps the editing process efficient.
5. Prioritise What Matters
Not all feedback has equal weight. Clearly mark:
✅ Must Fix
💡 Nice to Have
This helps the editor focus on what’s critical for deadlines.
The best video feedback is clear, centralised, timestamped, and focused on goals. Do this, and you’ll save time, reduce revision rounds, and end up with a video that works — not just one that looks nice.

Product Video vs. Testimonial Video: What Works Best?
When it comes to promoting your brand, both product videos and testimonial videos are powerful — but they serve different purposes.
🎥 Product Video
A product video showcases your product or service in action. It highlights features, benefits, and how it solves a problem.
Best for:
New product launches
Website landing pages
Explaining complex services
💬 Testimonial Video
A testimonial video features real customers sharing their experience with your brand. It builds trust and credibility.
Best for:
Building trust with new customers
Social media ads
After someone already knows your product
So, Which Works Best?
〰️
So, Which Works Best? 〰️
It depends on your goal:
Want to show what your product does? → Go with a Product Video.
Want to build trust through real voices? → Use a Testimonial Video.
Need help creating one? Let’s talk. 🎬
🎬 Post-Production Takes Time — Here’s Why
You’ve wrapped the shoot, packed up the gear, and the client says, “When can we see the final video?”
The POV:
We get it — everyone’s excited! But here’s the truth: post-production often takes 3x longer than the shoot itself.
1. 🧹 Sorting Through Footage
Before editing even begins, we need to review hours of raw clips — multiple takes, angles, and b-roll. Choosing the best moments takes time, and it’s all about finding the shots that tell the story best.
2. ✂️ Precision Editing
Editing isn’t just about putting clips in a timeline. It’s cutting frames to the beat, pacing the visuals, ensuring smooth transitions — basically, making sure it feels right to the viewer. And if it’s interview-based, we’re also cutting out ums, silences, or anything off-brand.
3. 🎨 Color Grading
Raw footage often looks flat and dull straight out of the camera. We enhance contrast, fix white balance, match shots, and craft a visual tone that fits your brand — whether warm and nostalgic or sharp and cinematic.
4. 🔊 Sound Design & Mixing
Great visuals are nothing without clear sound. We clean up audio, remove background noise, add ambient sound, music, and sync everything perfectly. Every small detail adds emotional depth.
5. 🔁 Revisions & Exports
Client feedback = changes. Even small tweaks (like a text size or a logo move) mean re-rendering. Exporting high-quality files also takes time — especially for 4K or long-form content.
“Good videos take time.
If we rush, quality suffers. Post-production is where your brand truly comes to life — with polish, precision, and power.”
From PowerPoint to Motion Graphics: Give Your Anniversary Video Montage a Real Upgrade
Still using PowerPoint slideshows for milestone events?
It’s time for an upgrade.
A traditional slideshow with fading photos and looping music feels outdated — especially on big screens during important events. It doesn’t reflect the energy, growth, or professionalism of your brand.
Why switch to an animated montage?
✅ Dynamic storytelling
Instead of static slides, we animate your content — like timelines, maps, charts, and photos — to make your story flow smoothly and feel alive.
✅ Brand-focused
We design the montage using your brand colours, logo animation, and typography to ensure everything looks consistent and professional.

✅ Stronger impact
The right pacing, music, and voiceover help create a deeper connection with your audience — whether it’s a celebration or a corporate presentation.
✅ Multi-use
One animated montage can be used across different platforms: social media, LED screens at events, internal presentations, or official reports.
Have an anniversary, launch, or event coming up?

Behind-The-Scene: Echoes of A Game
A month ago, we did a spontaneous shoot in our studio.
The final video looks smooth — but behind the scenes? It was all chaos, laughs, and creative sparks.
Check out at our video here: https://www.facebook.com/Lightcubestudiomy/videos/591626660194100
We turned a simple idea into a dramatic face-off — two players, one table, no script. With focused stares, tight close-ups, and moody lighting, it felt like a cinematic mind game.
Here is our Director of the day!
He’s the one who started it. Out of nowhere, he goes, ‘Jom adu baka tu!’ — and we were all in!
He didn’t just film — he taught both players how to win. Strategy, tricks, everything. Coach gitu
🧠 On-Set Energy: Focused… But Fun
What began as a fun idea quickly turned into a full-day shoot. We explored various angles and experimented with different lighting setups to get the perfect vibe.
The studio looks extra dark and moody — it’s intentional. We used a black cloth backdrop to create a more dramatic, focused atmosphere.

🎞️ Final Thoughts
This shoot reminded us why we love what we do. Sometimes the best videos aren’t the ones with the biggest budgets — they’re the ones where everyone is in the moment, playing, creating, and building something together.
Want to create something like this with us? Whether it's planned or spontaneous, we’re always up for a challenge.
